Packaging industry lacks online exposure in my opinion. It may be one of the largest industry but still it isn't as much popular on social platforms as some others are. People are just getting familiar with online world and some have realized the importance of it. Thanks for the blog i am going to bookmark it!

Great post! Where I work, we offer a variety of primary and secondary packaging materials and there has been a strong push to move towards environmentally friendly packaging materials. Making the switch to environmentally friendly packaging is a great idea, but the new materials need to be adequate to provide an appealing look or in our case secure loads properly for transport. The materials also need to be cost effective, or as you mentioned the cost will be past on to the consumer. I agree that companies really need to consider everything associated with "Green" packaging before jumping on the bandwagon.
Thanks again for the post, very informative.

Consumers always seem to be on the short end the process when companies design packaging. There are so many influencing factors that contribute to why consumers will buy your products or not. That's one reason I'm so excited to share my latest webinar: Does Your Packaging Speak Human @ http://bit.ly/tFYVjd

Nicely stated, JoAnn. Speaking of the incredible shrinking package, I remember when a can of tuna made enough tuna salad to feed four kids! As for wrap rage, as one who loves packaging, I sometimes feel a bit irritated by the seemingly-impenetrable blister packaging. I appreciate that manufacturers are being thrifty with materials and smart about protecting the object within, but neglect to account for the end user, who's goal is to open the package without damaging the goods inside. It's a fine line....

I see so many new great examples every day. If companies will think about the ultimate purpose of the product at the beginning rather than the end of the process.
